What do I have to do to get a Florida real estate license?

Three requirements must be met:

(1) You must apply and be approved by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation by visiting www.MyFloridaLicense.com.
(2) You must complete and pass a pre-license course (like the one offered by us) with a 70% or higher score.
(3) You must pass the state exam with a score of 75% or higher.

Do I have to apply for a license before I register for a pre-license course?

No — you may register for our pre-licensing course prior to submitting an application. We assist our students on how to process their applications.

Do I have to be a resident of Florida to get a Florida real estate license?

No. There is no Florida residency or U.S. citizenship requirement.

What are the minimum requirements for real estate licensure?

You must be at least 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, have a social security number, and be honest, trustworthy, truthful, of good character and have a reputation of dealing honestly with others.

How long do I have to finish my course?

Courses must be completed within 365 days of registration — and since everything is online and self-paced, most students finish far sooner.

Is the school licensed by the state?

Yes. Miami Real Estate Academy is a subsidiary of The Listing Exchange Schools of Real Estate and is licensed by the State of Florida. You can verify our license here.
